Michel was one of 13 New Zealand artists commissioned to create a public artwork which was also translated into individual episodes for a new television arts program series titled New Artland and went to air in New Zealand on the 28th March, 2008.
The brief for this commission was that Michel was to choose a region or community anywhere in New Zealand that he has a personal connection to and conceive an artwork that could be installed or deployed there. The artwork needed to be made with the assistance and involvement of that community.
